St. Catharines Parade 2009

The band participated in the St. Catharines Grade and Wine Festival Parade again this year. The senior and Junior band worked together to march and play in the annual event.

The Grape and Wine Festival Parade is one of the biggest parades in Canada and is televised nationally.

It’s an early start on parade day, as our bus leaves Whitby at 7:00am. The weather forecast was not good for the parade, with rain being predicted from noon onwards.
Mother nature smiled on us though, and it actually turned out nice and other than a few sprinkles on the way to St. Catharines, we didn’t get any rain throughout the day.

The St. Catharines parade is a fun one to march in, because the parade route is packed with spectators from start to finish. With the crown urging us on, the 4km of marching doesn’t seem so long…
