Founded in 1863, the Whitby Brass Band has etched its name in the annals of musical history. Originating as a gathering of local musicians with a passion for brass instruments, the ensemble quickly gained popularity for its lively performances. Throughout the decades, the band weathered the challenges of two World Wars, adapting its repertoire to lift spirits during trying times. Today, the Whitby Brass Band stands as a testament to resilience, musical prowess, and community engagement, with a legacy that spans over a century of shared melodies and memories.
The band is fortunate to have the full support of the Corporation of the Town of Whitby.
